Dr Prem Premchand graduated in 1988 from TD Medical College, Kerala. He has been the Medical Director of Gutcare.org ltd since 2005, providing insourcing in GI services for NHS Hospitals. Gutcare specialises in cost effective, safe and patient friendly endoscopy services. Gutcare helps NHS hospitals in their endoscopy and GI clinic waiting list management and achieve RTT targets in a timely manner”

I have performed more than 10,000 colonoscopies with 95% caecal intubation rate and more than 6000 ERCP’s. I have performed more than 650 endoscopic obesity balloons with average weight loss of more than 2 stones in 12 months. My obesity work is through the national obesity surgery centre
I have received training in robotic colonoscopy at the Endotics laboratory in Pisa, Italy. This new technology is a safe, painless colonoscopy that doesn’t require sedation or decontamination. This procedure will be available at QASMC from July 2018

Dr Prem Premchand has been operating since 1995 in all sectors of diagnostic and surgical digestive Endoscopy in both elective and emergency surgery.

• Diagnostic and surgical oesophageal-gastro-duodenoscopy with: Chromoscopy research, Dilation and positioning of oesophageal and gastro-duodenal endoprosthesis – Treatment of oesophageal-gastric varices (sclerosis, ligation, occlusion with cyanoacrylate) – Polypectomy – Endoscopic resections of malignancies – Haemostasis of bleeding lesions (with injection therapy, thermal and mechanic with clips and ligatures) – Removal of foreign bodies – Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) – Positioning of feeding or decompressing probe – Endoscopic treatment of Zenker’s diverticulitis – Treatment of Barrett’s Oesophagus (mucousectomy and radiofrequency);
• Diagnostic and surgical Colonoscopy with: Polypectomy – Endoscopic resectioning of flat malignancies (mucousectomy; submucosa dissection); Haemostasis of bleeding lesions – Treatment with Argon Plasma Coagulation of the actinic proctitis – pneumatic and mechanic dilation – Positioning of endoprosthesis (for malignant stenosis) – Positioning of decompressive probes.
• Colon Wash (colon cleanse without having to drink 3-4 litres of bowel preparation solution)
• Endoscopy of the soft intestine (small intestine): Endoscopy using a video capsule – total diagnostic and surgical enteroscopy using DBE technique (Double Balloon Enteroscopy).
• Endoscopy of the bilio-pancreatic pathways: ERCP (Endoscopic retrograde colangio pancreatography) – Papillotomy (sphincterotomy) – Extraction of stones – Drainage nasal-biliary or nasal pancreatic – Dilation and positioning of endoprosthesis in the biliary or pancreatic pathways – Drainage of pancreatic cysts.
